To Shisha or not To Shisha

Hey guys, I’m typing away at my keyboard, looking at the screen wondering how i can help us live a healthier life, then I remember a conversation I had with a beautiful lady some days back,
Somehow, the conversation got to “So do you smoke? I was asked.
“I don’t smoke, I don’t even think I’ve lighted a cigar in my life.
“Hmmmm”, she wondered, wondering where this boring guy stepped out from.
I threw the question back at her, “so do you?”
“No I don’t smoke, but I do shisha.”
I smiled, a knowing one
In case, you have not noticed, shisha is the new thing in town, its tobacco mixed with fruits, or sugar which makes the smoke more aromatic than cigarette smoke. by the way, it looks cooler than smoking a boring cigarette
it is usually flavoured with apple, coconut, strawberry, you name it. whatever fits your fancy.
It is then burnt, to create the smoke because this fruit syrup or flavourings make the tobacco damp.
What exactly does this mean?
When you do smoke shisha, you and anybody sitting around you are breathing in toxins released from the smoke including the poisonous carbon monoxide and other heavy metals that will interfere, with how your blood carries oxygen around your body.
Here’s the catch, shisha contains tobacco, and also including nicotine, tar, arsenic, and lead, and to mention a few, that means you are at the same risks as a cigarette smoker, (lung cancer, heart disease, respiratory problems and problems with an unborn baby if you are pregnant, and no it is not safer as you were told.
Here is another,
A puff of shisha contains about the same smoke as a whole cigarette and because shisha sessions last for long, sometimes up to an hour in about this time, you may have smoked up to a 100 cigarettes.
Some people mistakenly think that shisha smoking is not addictive because the water used in the pipe can absorb nicotine. In reality, because only some of the nicotine is absorbed by the water, shisha smokers are still exposed to enough nicotine to cause an addiction.
So the question is, to shisha or not to shisha. smoking is still dangerous for your health. changing the container doesn’t make it any less dangerous.

  1. Smoking in general also cause the skin to become flaky, saggy and dull thereby making you look older than your age, studies have also shown that apart from sunlight the second major factor of wrinkle formation is smoking. I like the work you are doing here, Aproko Doctor, I just hope those who smoke are able to abstain from it.

  2. Tell them oo, even some medical practitioners still believe that shisha is better than cigarettes.
    Thanks for the info
